Carrying Tradition

Born in Kyoto, June 29, 1974. After working at Kyoto Fugasha, established Michikusa Co.Ltd.

Japanese people believe everything in nature has a role, so everything has a spirit. In that way, Japanese gardening begins with “Endeavor to know nature, accept nature, and follow.”Japanese gardens are not made by human ego alone, but constantly asking questions to nature. We can say a gardener’s job is to “make things” through a dialogue with nature.

“Curiosity” and “memory” are the basis of “making things”. This is because development and proposals are born from curiosity and memory take them to the next stage. While preserving and developing today’s environment, I aim to make beautiful, fun gardens,  ” toys that don’t need instruction manuals,” spaces where you want to walk in everyday.
